Minister of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning of Serbia Milan Ba?evi? said that Belgrade would become a center for Chinese investment in Central and Eastern European countries. Ba?evi? signed the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of geology and mining with the Chinese Ministry of Natural Resources Jiang Daming on 6 November in Tianjin .
" The first meeting in Warsaw last year established a mechanism for cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries , which provided a great opportunity for us. We propose to make Belgrade the center for Chinese investment in Serbia, mainly in cooperation with Chinese partners in the field of large infrastructure projects , and this conforms to the economic and political interests of Serbia , "said Ba?evi? .
During the meeting with Chinese Minister of Natural Resources Jiang Daming , Ba?evi? noted that Chinese companies for prospecting were widespread in Serbia, as well as most of the Canadian and Australian companies .
"This is an opportunity for Chinese companies in Serbia. Funds for the Chinese mining companies are provided by the government in Beijing. And we should not forget the funds held by the powerful Chinese companies of its own. China is a great power , which has advanced technology and exploitation equipment, and plays an important role not only in the field of mineral exploitation , but also deposit exploration." said Ba?evi? .
Jiang Damning presented the general proposals for deepening cooperation with Serbia , noted that a special fund worth 25 million euros would be established, which could be increased in the mining progresses .
