Ionut Budisteanu Ranked by TIME Among the Most Influential Teens in The World

The recognition of the performance of Romanian Ionut Budisteanu, included in the top of the most influential teens in 2013 made by the American magazine Time, should make us proud, said Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
"I was very glad when I found out that Ionut won prize in May. The recognition of his performance by the Time magazine is a reason to be proud. Well done, Ionut!'", wrote Ponta on his Facebook page.
Budisteanu won the 75,000-dollars Gordon E. Moore Top Prize in Phoenix, Arizona, the prize being named after Intel founder. The teenager also won the top spot by category, alongside the Best of Category (the top spot by category was awarded to several students). He won another two special prizes from the companies sponsoring the awards. The ISEF prize is the most important in research for high school students.
Budisteanu was participating in Intel ISEF for the third time. Last year he won 14,000 dollars worth of prizes for a project using tongue sensors to create images, a project aimed at the visually impaired; this year, he made an autonomously controlled car - a vehicle driving on its own by means of a 3D radar.
The 18-year-old Romanian is a student at Oltchim School Group in Ramnicu Valcea (southern Romania). He is a winner of a total of 90 national and international prizes.
