Ioan Niculae, a businessman is the richest person in Romania, with a fortune estimated at 1.7 billion euros, according to 'Capital Top 300 Richest Romanians,' launched in Bucharest, in the presence of some important representatives of the economic and political sectors of Romania.
Ranked second, with a 900 million euro fortune is Dan Adamescu, followed by Ion Tiriac, with a fortune estimated at 800-850 million euros.
The fourth place is taken by RCS-RDS owner Zoltan Teszari, with 690-700 million euros, and the fifth place is occupied by Paval brothers, the owners of Dedeman DIY chain store, with an estimated fortune of 500-520 million euros.
The cumulate fortune of the richest people in Romania this year totals 21.5 billion euros, down 5 billion from 2012, Capital magazine editor-in-chief Oana Osman announced at the 'Capital Top 300 richest Romanians Gala.'
'One single businessman still has a fortune of one billion euros. Bucharest and the surrounding areas have remained the richest areas, but here the business people's fortunes registered a four billion euro decrease. Teleorman also remains a county with significant fortunes, same as Constanta, in terms of the number of millionaires and the value of their assets,' Oana Osman pointed out.
She noted, however, that the prospect for next year does not look more optimistic concerning the fortune increase.
