  China is one of the priority export markets for the Lithuanian food industry, which is seen as a long-term and reliable trading partner. "We seek to further deepen trade and economic relations with your country, especially in the field of milk and meat products. We hope that we will be able to expand the list of our exported products, "Saulius Savickis, Deputy Agriculture Minister, said at a meeting with the Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference of Henan Province Jin Kewen.

  According to Jin Kewen, the province of Henan located in the central part of China has more than 100 million people - it is the most densely populated in China. The province with its cultural roots is also the leader in the country's economy, it is the most important producer of agricultural produce - accounting for almost one quarter of all crops. At present, the agricultural reform is underway in the province of Henan - the Chinese Government pays particular attention to the development of agriculture in this province, which is envisaging intensive cultivation of crops. The province also successfully develops agro tourism, livestock farming, and focuses on the development of agricultural supply. The Chinese would like to establish joint ventures with Lithuanian food companies, in particular, they are interested in livestock and crop production.

  The visit of the Vice Minister of Agriculture of China Yu Xinrong to Lithuania is scheduled for August 13-16. It is planned to discuss bilateral cooperation and sign the Action Plan on Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture (2018-2020) between the Ministries of Agriculture of Lithuania and China.

  Lithuania is planning to hold the 13th Forum on Agricultural Trade and Economic Cooperation between China and 16 Central and Eastern European countries in 2018 in order to introduce China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe with the opportunities of the Lithuanian food industry and to strengthen trade and investment policy. This international event should take place at the AgroBalt 2018 exhibition.
