Reception for the 91th Anniversary of PLA held in Tallinn

  On 25 July, the Chinese Embassy in Estonia held a reception in honor of the 91th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) in Tallinn. The Chinese Ambassador Li Chao and diplomats of the Embassy joined with more than 150 guests for the celebration.

  In the opening speech, the Military Attaché of the Embassy Mr. Wang Zhuo briefly introduced the remarkable history of the PLA in the past 91 years. He also reviewed the important progress and achievements made during the military reform in recent years. He also highlighted China's participation in international peacekeeping and humanitarian relief missions. He said that the exchanges between the PLA and Estonia Defense Forces in recent years were helpful to promote mutual understanding and trust between the two armed forces.

  Mr. Wang Zhuo stressed that China unswervingly pursues a national defense policy which is defensive in nature and is committed to safeguarding world peace and regional security. The PLA will carry out its duties according to these goals.

  A video about the history of the PLA and a photo exhibition on the development of the PLA were displayed at the reception.
