The "Quality China 2019 Zhejiang Expo" kicked off here on Thursday, with 86 companies from eastern China's Zhejiang Province presenting their quality products to Hungarian customers.

Chen Zongyao, chairman of Zhejiang Provincial Committee of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said the Committee "has been working in the past sixty years in order to promote the various products of the province to its international potential partners".

"The volume of trade between Hungary and Zhejiang Province are continuously increasing, and it reached about one billion U.S. dollars in 2018, which is up 26 percent from 2017," he added.

The Chinese exhibitors represent various fields, such as mechanical and electrical products, building materials and hardware, consumer goods, and cultural and creative products, according to Chen.

"The main objective of the expo is the presentation of the goods and products from China's Zhejiang Province, and we are very pleased that the province has honored us with such a rich sample of its large variety of producers," said Tamas Nadasi, president of the Chinese section of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He explained: "Within the Belt and Road Initiative, more and more Hungarian companies are eager to do business with China, and it is our duty to help them in their quest; this expo can serve the purpose."

The expo, co-organized by Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Hungarian National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers, will last until Saturday.
