SOFIA, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- A photo exhibition titled "Full-Bloom Flowers in Shanghai" opened in the Sofia City Library on Thursday to display various features of the Chinese city in the 20th century.

The pictures are from Shanghai Library collections, and demonstrate the diversity of life, ranging from architecture and landscape to advertising and fashion.

"This exhibition shows the development of Shanghai. We also want to demonstrate the special culture of Shanghai," Lin Jun, deputy director of Shanghai Library, said at the opening ceremony of the six-day event.

There is a long history of exchanges and deep friendship between the two libraries, Lin said, adding that Shanghai Library has donated books to Sofia City Library in 2011 and 2015.

"We can donate more resources for the readers in Sofia if you are interested in more areas of Shanghai and China," he said.

The exhibition was specially designed for Sofia City Library, its director Julia Tzinzova said in turn. "It is a great pleasure and honor for us," Tzinzova added.

The partnership between the two libraries would continue, she said. They could sign an agreement on the exchange of experience and resources "because Bulgarians have a huge interest in China and the Chinese way of life," Tzinzova said.
