A meeting between Europe and China will take place at the AgroBalt exhibition

  Ljubljana / Vilnius. Minister of Agriculture of China Han Changfu has promised that the import of Lithuanian goods to the largest market of the continent will be further expanded, the Minister of Agriculture Bronius Markauskas said after the meeting in the capital of Slovenia.

  "During such meetings, concrete promises are not given and the process will be long, but the Chinese Minister of Agriculture promised that the process of opening of the market will continue", said B. Markauskas, who planned to discuss the possibilities of the export of Lithuanian beef and cereal products to the largest continental market in Asia.

  Ministers of Agriculture of Lithuania and China met at the Agricultural Trade and Economic Forum of China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe 16 + 1. The high-level event in Ljubljana addressed issues related to international trade, with particular emphasis on the importance of the agricultural and food supply chain locally and globally.

  Minister Markauskas invited all ministers next year to arrive to Lithuania on May 25, where the 13th forum of the 16 + 1 will be held. The official Chinese delegation and business representatives will be also welcomed at the largest in Baltic States international food and agriculture exhibition "AgroBalt 2018" that will be held the same time (24-26 May 2018) in Vilnius.

  Chinese Minister of Agriculture H. Changfu promised to come to Lithuania next year and invited Minister Markauskas to visit China's 15th China AG Fair organized by the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture in Beijing and discuss all the organizational issues of the forthcoming 16 + 1 forum.

  The 16 + 1 format set up in China in 2012 aims to expand Beijing's cooperation with Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia and Serbia.
