The first batch of exhibition areas at the Serbia Exhibition Center, built by Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA), was handed over on October 21, with nine exhibition areas including the China Pavilion formally delivered to exhibitors.
The handover was organized by the expo organizer and attended by representatives of the owner's consultant, the supervision team and the contractor. The parties carried out a joint inspection of structural quality, safety conditions and supporting facilities for water, electricity and gas against agreed standards, and signed the handover documents once the areas were confirmed ready for fit-out. Hall 1, venue A1.6, has already begun steel structure installation, and the remaining pavilions will follow shortly. Under the owner's schedule, all venues in Zone A will be handed over in three batches, with the last completed before November 15. With the first batch delivered, participating countries have moved in ahead of schedule, and the project has entered a critical stage in which handover and finishing work run in parallel.
As the core venue of Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, the exhibition center is a priority project for Serbia and one of the six first-phase measures of the China-Serbia community with a shared future in the new era under the Belt and Road Initiative. The handover marks a core milestone for the project and lays the groundwork for the expo, which runs from May 15 to August 15, 2027. The project team will press ahead and complete the remaining work to a high standard, contributing Chinese expertise and strength to the international event.
