On the afternoon of Nov. 27 local time, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council visited the Romanian subsidiary of Chinese Huawei Technologies Co., during his visit to Romania.
Li Keqiang was welcomed by the Chinese and foreign employees when he arrived at Huawei's Global Network Operation Center.
Li Keqiang first listened to an introduction about Huawei's operating conditions and market development. A person in charge from Huawei said that while Huawei's overseas business is rapidly growing, the company has also boosted the local development. It has directly created more than 1,000 jobs in Romania alone, and indirectly created as many as 2,000 jobs. When hearing that more than 70% of Huawei Romania's employees are local people, Li Keqiang spoke highly of it. He said that Huawei has relied on independent intellectual property rights, strong manufacturing and high-level services to grow from a domestic company to doing business abroad, and to becoming a transnational corporation. Chinese enterprises going global will not only win space for their own development, but also benefit the local people.
Then, Li Keqiang came to the office area, and attentively asked the Chinese employees who were present where they came from, and how their lives were in the foreign country. Li also had close talks with local staff, and extended best wishes to them.
In the conference room, Li Keqiang had interactions and exchanges with representatives of the Chinese and foreign employees from Huawei's branches in nine Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries through Huawei's self-developed intelligent and high-definition video conference system, and extended cordial greetings to everyone. Employees were thrilled by Li Keqiang's visit, and some foreign employees used fluent Chinese to extend greetings to Li, saying that Huawei has made them feel at home.
