WARSAW, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Polish Olympic Committee unveiled on Monday the list of 57 athletes who will compete at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

The team includes 30 women and 27 men. For the first time in the history of Polish sport, more women than men will go to the Winter Games.

"This event will attract the attention of the whole world. Each Olympic Games is of general interest, and individual countries are becoming great fan zones at that time," said Polish Olympic Committee president Andrzej Krasnicki in the official statement. "At the Olympic arenas there are representatives of the country, the best of the best, and therefore representatives of all of them. The Olympic team is pride."

The athletes will take part in biathlon, figure skating, speed skating, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, alpine skiing, snowboarding and luge with medal hopes pinned on the ski jumpers and the speed skaters.

"The Management Board of the Polish Olympic Committee appointed our best competitors of winter disciplines to the Olympic team. As always, they include both highly experienced athletes, who have already had three or even four Olympic performances behind them, and debutants who will make their Olympic debut in China. It's a great honor for them," Krasnicki concluded. Enditem
