On August 20, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Slovenia hosted a pre-departure seminar for students who will be studying in China. Mr. Zhao Binghui, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of China in Slovenia, attended the event and delivered a speech. Professor Mitja, founder of the Department of Asian Studies at the University of Ljubljana, with a total of over 20 participants, including this year’s recipients of the Chinese Government Scholarship and representatives of alumni.

Mr. Zhao encouraged the students to seize this valuable opportunity, achieve academic success, experience China’s socio-economic development and its historical and cultural richness firsthand, and actively share a truthful, multidimensional, and comprehensive view of China. He urged them to become bridges of friendship and mutual understanding between China and Slovenia.

The seminar was filled with warm and lively exchanges. Prospective students shared their expectations for studying in China and their academic plans, while returning alumni shared their study experiences and practical tips for life in China. Embassy diplomats provided guidance on matters such as visa processing and convenient payment methods.
