From August 2 to 8, the 68th World Military Pentathlon Championship was held at the Theresian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt, Austria. A total of 9 athletes from the delegation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army took part, competing alongside more than 100 athletes from the militaries of 16 other countries, including Austria, Norway, Denmark, Pakistan, Brazil and Algeria.
The competition coincided with an extreme heatwave in Europe, with local temperatures in Vienna at one point approaching 40°C. Undeterred by the scorching heat, the Chinese team rose to the challenge, competing tenaciously and daring to push the limits of their physical endurance. In the end, they won multiple awards, including the women's team championship, men's team fifth place, women's individual silver, women's obstacle relay bronze and men's obstacle relay fourth place. Their outstanding skills and strong willpower earned widespread praise from the organizers and all participating teams.
