On 8 October, Ambassador Fang Qiu attended and addressed the inauguration ceremony of a community children’s playground in the city of Piraeus. Domna Maria Michailidou, Minister of Social Cohesion and Family of Greece, Yiannis Moralis, Mayor of Piraeus, and local children’s representatives were present.

Ambassador Fang noted that the Port of Piraeus stands as a benchmark model of China-Greece practical cooperation. The newly inaugurated children’s playground is another symbol of the traditional friendship and close bond between the two peoples, adding a humanistic dimension to China-Greece friendly cooperation. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the China-Greece Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. China stands ready to continuously strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges and practical cooperation with Greece, consolidate the popular foundation of bilateral friendship, and pass on the China-Greece friendship from generation to generation.

Greek guests stated that the playground is a vivid testament to Greece-China friendship. Greece looks forward to continuously deepening people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation with China and further enhancing the bond between the two peoples.

The event featured a warm and joyful atmosphere. Greek children sang songs of both China and Greece and wrote wish cards one after another, expressing their best wishes for China-Greece friendship.
