Croatia is open to Chinese investors and companies, board chairman of the foreign policy committee of the Croatian Parliament Miro Kovac told Xinhua in an interview.

Kovac will lead a delegation for a seven-day visit to China.

Kovac said the visit will focus on political co-operation between Croatia and China, and bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism, primarily the health and medical tourism.

"Croatia wants to create better conditions for Chinese tourists, and this year we expect 220,000 of them," Kovac told Xinhua.

Bilateral relations, he said, are on a steady rise and that it is a common goal of both countries to achieve stability in South East Europe.

Kovac says that Croatian citizens are particularly pleased with the fact that a Chinese consortium will build the Peljesac Bridge.

The Croatian delegation will send to their Chinese hosts a call for the Chinese companies to continue participating in the international tenders in Croatia.

"Everyone is welcome and the same conditions must be applied. We highly appreciate Chinese companies and we are confident that they will find interest in Croatia," said Kovac.
