On 27 August 2018, the Chinese Ambassador to Estonia H.E. Mr. Li Chao paid a courtesy call on the Estonian Minister of Defence H.E. Mr. Jüri Luik in Tallinn.

　　The Ambassador conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes from the Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe and congratulated the Minister on the Estonian centenary this year. The Ambassador spoke positively of the friendly relationship between China and Estonia. "Our relationship is in the best period in recent years. We have deepened our mutual trust, increased high-level contacts and the cooperation between the PLA and the Estonian Defense Forces has developed smoothly," said the Ambassador."Based upon the principle of mutual respect,equality and win-win cooperation, We looks forward to more frequent exchanges between our two military in the future." the Ambassador added.

　　Minister of Defence Jüri Luik welcomed the Ambassador to Estonia and asked Ambassador to forward his best regards to the Chinese Defense Minister. The Minister said China is an important partner of Estonia and he is satisfied with the good momentum of the bilateral relationship. Estonia looks forward to enhancing the cooperation with PLA and promote bilateral relationship to a new high.
