Estonian SOS children celebrate Chinese New Year

TALLINN, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Children, SOS mothers and staff from the SOS Children's Village in Estonia on Friday joined Chinese children and members of the Chinese Embassy Women's Club to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year and experience Chinese traditional culture.

Nineteen Estonian children aged five to 15 and eight children of the embassy staff presented holiday songs and music performances, Chinese calligraphy and paper folding, as well as made dumplings.

Margus Oro, managing director of the SOS Children's Village, thanked the Chinese Embassy for kind assistance and hospitality over the years, expressing good wishes for a better future for the children of both countries.

Oro told Xinhua that the occasion is a "rare opportunity" for the SOS Children to learn more about China. "

The Estonian SOS Children's Village is a non-profit organization founded in 1994 that operates with help from the local government, individuals, companies and international organizations.
