SOFIA, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Ivan Ivanov, the Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture, said here on Tuesday that he wants to strengthen agricultural cooperation with China.

"I personally will be happy if the Chinese side wants to import Bulgarian agricultural products," said Ivanov who took office on Dec. 13, 2021, at a press conference while introducing his team and priorities.

Ivanov also recalled that the Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the Central and Eastern European Countries (APACCCEEC) is based in Bulgaria.

Established at the intergovernmental level in Sofia in June 2015, the APACCCEEC coordinates the activities of the ministries on the one hand and the businesses on the other.

"We are going to talk to the APACCCEEC, review its activities and see what progress there is," Ivanov said.

China was Bulgaria's second largest export destination outside the European Union in the first ten months of 2021, according to Bulgarian official statistics.
