On August 11, Qian Minjian, Chinese Ambassador to Switzerland, attended and addressed the Pre-Departure Briefing & Reception for 2026 Chinese Government Scholarship Recipients held in Bern. Around 50 people in total, including Li Xudong, Counsellor for Education Affairs at the Embassy, relevant officials from Swissuniversities, as well as representatives of both new and returning Swiss students studying in China together with their family members and friends, were present at the event.

In his speech, Ambassador Qian encouraged the scholarship recipients to cherish the opportunity to study in China, devote themselves to their academic pursuits, tell authentic stories on China, and become ambassadors of China-Switzerland friendship and practitioners of international exchanges.

The scholarship recipients stated that they would make full use of their study opportunities to gain an in-depth understanding of China, and contribute to carrying forward Switzerland-China friendship and deepening cultural exchanges and mutual learning.
