Recently, the Chinese Embassy in Romania held a symposium titled "Carrying Forward Traditional Friendship and Building a Better Future — Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Comrade Jiang Zemin." Ambassador Chen Feng delivered a speech. The event was attended by friendly figures from various circles in Romania, including Cosmin-Ioan Corendea, Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with China and Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies; former President Emil Constantinescu; former Prime Minister Adrian Năstase; former Prime Minister and Chair of the Romania-China House Viorica Dăncilă; and former Ambassador to China Doru Romulus Costea.

Ambassador Chen reviewed the important achievements made under Comrade Jiang Zemin's leadership in advancing reform, opening up, and socialist modernization, as well as his work and life experience in Romania and his significant contributions to China-Romania relations. He stated that China is ready to work with the Romanian people to deepen political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, promote people-to-people connectivity, and jointly write a new chapter of China-Romania friendship.

Participants fondly recalled their memorable interactions with Comrade Jiang Zemin and spoke highly of his important contributions to China's development and to China-Romania relations. They noted that Comrade Jiang Zemin harbored sincere affection for the Romanian people and was familiar with and fond of the Romanian language and culture. Whether during his early years working in Romania or later as a leader of the Party and state, he personally engaged in and supported the development of bilateral relations, leaving behind many touching stories of China-Romania friendship. Both sides agreed to carry forward the traditional friendship, uphold the spirit of friendship and openness, and inject new vitality into bilateral relations.
