China and Central and Eastern European countries set up secretariat in Beijing

China and several Central and Eastern European countries have set up a secretariat in Beijing in a bid to boost cooperation.
It is part of the plan proposed by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao earlier this year at a summit between China and sixteen Central and Eastern European countries in the Polish capital, Warsaw.
Secretary-general of the secretariat Song Tao says that strengthening cooperation will help the two sides develop a more "comprehensive and balanced" relationship.

Song Tao also reveals that the two sides are discussing how to use China's 10-billion US dollars worth of loans to the Central and Eastern European countries. Bilateral trade between China and Central and Eastern European countries has increased over 25 percent in the past ten years.
