Li Keqiang Meets with President Tomislav Nikolić of Serbia

In the morning of December 18 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met in Belgrade with President Tomislav Nikolić of Serbia.
Tomislav Nikolić greeted Li Keqiang at the entrance of the Serbian Building to extend welcome to his visit to Serbia.
Li Keqiang first conveyed kind greetings and best wishes to President Tomislav Nikolić from President Xi Jinping. Li Keqiang said that China and Serbia enjoy profound traditional friendship and have always respected each other and treated each other as equals. Both countries pursue an independent foreign policy of peace, dedicate to safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity and support each other in issues concerning each other's core interests and major concerns. At present, the bilateral relations and cooperation have reached a new high. My visit this time is aimed at consolidating mutual political trust, which is already at a high level, and advancing bilateral pragmatic cooperation for new results. China encourages Chinese enterprises to conduct industrial cooperation in Serbia and is willing to enhance cooperation with the country in infrastructure construction, so as to promote the China-Serbia strategic partnership for new high.
Li Keqiang stressed that despite of the ever-changing international situation at present, peace and development are still the prevailing trend of the times. The in-depth development of China-Serbia relations conduces to cooperation between China and Central and Eastern Europe and the development China-Europe relations. The EU is the largest trading partner of China. China's cooperation with the the EU and Europe, which includes not only the Central and Eastern European countries, but also Western Europe and Southern Europe, is not only conducive to the European integration, but also beneficial to the peace, stability and development in the region and the world at large.
Tomislav Nikolić said that Serbia and China enjoy traditional friendship, which lays a solid foundation for deepening cooperation. Premier Li Keqiang's visit this time carry the cause forward and forge ahead into the future and has received positive responses in Serbia and Europe. Serbia welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in the country and participate in its infrastructure construction, and is ready to strengthen coordination and cooperation with the Chinese side in international and regional affairs. Serbia congratulates China on the tremendous achievement made by China's reform and opening up and believes that the Chinese people led by the Chinese leaders will score greater achievements.
