Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Haixing Attends Opening Ceremony of Year of China-CEEC Media Cooperation and CEEC Film Festival

  On February 24, 2017, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Haixing attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the Year of Media Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) and CEEC Film Festival.

  Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Haixing expressed in his speech that the "16+1 cooperation" has developed from scratch, expanded from small to big and gradually moved toward maturity since emerged at the right moment five years ago, achieving fruitful outcomes. The year of 2017 marks the year of opportunities, development and in-depth docking for the "16+1 cooperation". The 17 countries should seize opportunities, ride the tide, especially make the meeting of heads of government this year a success, and promote the "16+1 cooperation" to a new stage, so as to bring more tangible benefits to people of the 17 countries. Liu Haixing expressed that the Year of China-CEEC Media Cooperation is a theme year event confirmed during the 16+1 Meeting of Heads of Government in Riga. Holding the Year of Media Cooperation aims at building a bridge connecting the public mind, boosting the "16+1 cooperation" and deepen China-Europe partnership of civilization. It is hoped that all 17 countries could give play to respective advantages, adhere to the ideas of broad transmission, openness and transparency, enhance the understanding of media and the general public on the "16+1 cooperation" through deepening communication and cooperation between media so that information can be symmetrically spread in the 17 countries, cooperation will and needs as well as capital and projects can achieve smooth alignment and results can be yielded.

  Vice Director General of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television Tong Gang and Hungarian Ambassador to China Andrea Cecilia Szilas also delivered speeches respectively.

  The opening ceremony of the Year of China-CEEC Media Cooperation and CEEC Film Festival was held at China Film Archive, and about 500 people including foreign envoys in China and diplomats from the 16 CEEC countries, as well as representatives of domestic media were present at the ceremony.
