From July 20 to 24, 2026, Tomio Okamura, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, paid an official visit to the People's Republic of China. The delegation included Member of Parliament Renáta Vesecká and a business delegation led by the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral trade and economic ties, tourism exchanges and cultural cooperation.

During the visit, Okamura held talks respectively with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and Wang Huning, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Discussions focused on increasing direct air connections between the two countries and further easing visa policies. Business forums were also held in Shanghai and Beijing, with more than 100 Czech and Chinese companies participating. The delegation also visited leading Chinese enterprises in aviation and tourism, the automotive industry and digital commerce.
