EBRD agrees to finance Albanian roads rehabilitation program
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Resident Office in Tirana on Wednesday agreed to help financing the Secondary and Local Roads Project (SLRP) in Albania.
The agreement, which was worth over 34 million euros (46 million U.S. dollars) of grant by the EBRD, was signed by Albanian Finance Minister Shkelqim Cani and Fabio Serri, head of the EBRD Resident Office in Tirana.
The SLRP program will support rehabilitation and upgrading of up to 1000 to 1500 km of regional and local roads in the country.
The main objectives of the program are to improve access to markets and essential services, and support the economic development of rural areas and their integration into the national economy. Enditem
