On 20 March 2018, the Chinese Ambassador to Estonia H.E. Mr. Li Chao paid a courtesy call on Estonian Minister of Culture H.E. Mr. Indrek Saar.

　　The Ambassador conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes from the Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism H.E. Mr. Luo Shugang and spoke positively on the cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Estonia over the years. "Cultural exchanges have been one of the most important highlights of the friendly cooperation between China and Estonia for many years. I appreciate very much that Estonia has actively participated in various culture exchange programs both at bilateral level and within the 16+1 format", said the Ambassador. He said he will make effort in building new contacts between Chinese and Estonian cultural organizations in his term and bring cultural cooperation between China and Estonia to the next level.

　　Minister Saar welcomed the Ambassador to Estonia and requested him to convey his best wishes to the Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism. The Minister was satisfied with the successful cooperation in culture between Estonia and China, which brought a lot of benefits to both sides. He was also pleased to welcome Shanghai Opera House to participate in Saaremaa Opera Festival this summer as one of the two main guests. The Minister stressed that he will continue supporting cultural exchanges between Estonia and China so as to expand the scope of mutually beneficial cooperation.
