Bratislava, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) – A seminar titled “China and Visegrád Group (V4) Countries: The Way Forward” was held on August 21 in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the current status and prospects of the V4 Group, as well as ways for individual member states and China to foster mutually beneficial cooperation.

The seminar was co-hosted by the Center for China-Europe Relations (CCER) at Fudan University and the Bratislava-based think tank, the Institute of Analysis, Strategies and Alternatives (IASA). It brought together over 30 scholars, policy experts, government officials, and representatives from the business sector, hailing from China, the V4 countries (Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, and Slovakia), as well as Germany. Participants at the seminar expressed the view that as the V4 Group enters a potential “revitalization phase” and China embarks on its 15th Five-Year Plan period, both sides should seek common ground while shelving differences, maintain communication, and work together on the basis of mutual respect, equality to advance pragmatic and mutually beneficial cooperation.
