On September 21, 2026, Jiang Xiaoyan, Chinese Ambassador to North Macedonia, traveled to Kavadarci to attend the online signing ceremony of a memorandum on friendly exchange relations between Yiwu of China and Kavadarci of North Macedonia. Tang Tang, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yiwu Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Yiwu, and Nastov, Deputy Mayor of Kavadarci, signed on behalf of their respective cities. They emphasized that the two sides will intensify mutual visits, expand economic, trade and investment cooperation, and promote youth exchanges.

Ambassador Jiang noted that Yiwu and Kavadarci complement each other geographically, enjoy interconnected industries and share mutually supportive resources. The establishment of friendly relations will bring the two sides new opportunities to develop hand in hand for mutual benefit and win-win results. She expressed the hope that the two cities will accelerate the alignment of their development strategies, advance regular exchanges, empower their respective high-quality economic and social development, help deepen mutual understanding and affinity between their peoples, jointly write a new chapter of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, and deliver more tangible benefits to both peoples.
