On 12 October, Ambassador Chen Feng attended and addressed the Forum on the International Use of the Renminbi, co-hosted by the Association of Chinese-funded Enterprises in Romania and Bank of China Bucharest Branch. Representatives from Romanian political and business circles, financial institutions, and Chinese-funded enterprises in Romania were present.

Ambassador Chen Feng gave an overview of China-Romania relations, particularly bilateral cooperation in the economic, trade and financial sectors. He noted that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China will continue to advance Renminbi (RMB) internationalization, expand the RMB’s role in international trade and investment, develop the offshore RMB market, and improve the cross-border RMB payment system. The further expansion of the RMB’s international use will provide more options and greater convenience for business cooperation between Chinese and Romanian enterprises, and lend stronger impetus to deepening financial connectivity and boosting China-Romania economic and trade growth.
