Taking dance as the medium to connect China and foreign lands and pass down cultural heritage. To further advance people-to-people artistic exchanges between China and foreign countries and carry out regular overseas communication of ethnic cultures, the "Chuanxin Siji" Creative Art Troupe from the School of Art and Design, Guizhou Vocational Technology Institute, recently held a multi-ethnic dance exchange with a delegation of Bulgarian middle school students on a study tour at the university. This event marks an important practice of the university’s regular youth artistic exchanges with foreign counterparts, and also forms an integral part of the overseas cultural communication system of the university’s key aesthetic education project "Passing the Torch Through Four Seasons: Mountain-Sea Village Gala".

Endowed with picturesque mountains and rivers and home to diverse ethnic groups, Guizhou has nurtured a rich, distinctive culture of multi-ethnic folk dances. Such dances serve as an important artistic carrier showcasing Guizhou’s local culture, folk heritage and ethnic spirit. At the event, the "Chuanxin Siji" Creative Art Troupe presented multi-ethnic dances of Guizhou rooted in the seasonal local cultural context. With graceful, poised movements and profound artistic charm, the performers integrated the delights of rural life and ethnic aesthetic values into body language, vividly demonstrating the unique glamour of local Guizhou arts.

After the performance, the students served as young cultural ambassadors and held interactive teaching sessions on site. They patiently explained and demonstrated postures, rhythms, basic patterns and fundamental steps, as well as cultural connotations, leading Bulgarian students to immerse themselves in the artistic beauty of Guizhou's multi-ethnic dances. The Bulgarian students took an active part and participated with enthusiasm. Within a relaxed and harmonious artistic atmosphere, they overcame language barriers and experienced firsthand the charm of China's local culture and Guizhou ethnic arts. Chinese and foreign young participants shared traditional art forms and folk customs of their respective countries. Through art, they built a bridge of communication; through culture, they forged youthful resonance. The activity broadened their artistic horizons and deepened cultural understanding and friendship between young people from both sides.

These rich cross-cultural exchange experiences have provided the "Chuanxin Siji" Creative Art Troupe with diverse perspectives and practical insights for artistic creation, curriculum refinement, and iterative improvement. Moving forward, rooted in local traditions and reaching out to the wider world, the troupe will continue to leverage the Mountain-Sea Village Gala as a platform for regular cultural exchange activities both at home and abroad. It will keep telling the stories of rural Guizhou and amplifying the voice of ethnic arts, allowing Guizhou's fine traditional culture to flourish anew—as heritage is passed down through the seasons and bonds of friendship are forged between China and the world.
