On August 10, Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming visited Novi Pazar, where he met with Sead Dudić, President of the Islamic Community of Serbia (Islamska zajednica Srbije), and Kenan Bisevac (Kenan Biševac), Mayor of Novi Pazar.

Ambassador Li briefed the hosts on the latest progress in building a China-Serbia community with a shared future in the new era. He noted that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the iron-clad friendship between China and Serbia continues to deepen, and that Novi Pazar has seen rapid economic growth and maintained social harmony and stability. He expressed hope for further sub-national friendship and exchange cooperation. Ambassador Li also introduced China's ethnic and religious policies and the Law on Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress, stating that China is ready to strengthen exchanges with Serbia on governance experience.

President Dudić outlined the local situation in ethnic governance and religious affairs, as well as his impressions from a recent visit to China, and spoke highly of China's achievements in counter-terrorism, deradicalization, and ethnic affairs governance. Mayor Biševac said Novi Pazar is rich in resources such as agriculture, animal husbandry, and tourism, with huge development potential, and expressed willingness to deepen cooperation with China in trade, culture and tourism, infrastructure, and other fields.

Novi Pazar is an economic, cultural, and transportation center in southwestern Serbia, with a population predominantly composed of Bosniaks (Muslims).
