On September 18, the Chinese Embassy in Croatia, together with a visiting delegation of the European Federation of Chinese Organizations (EFCO) and representatives of the Chinese community in Croatia, held a seminar on opposing “Taiwan independence” and promoting reunification, titled “Pooling Hearts and Efforts to Promote Reunification, Joining Hands to Realize the Chinese Dream.” Ambassador Qi Qianjin attended and addressed the seminar. Cao Yanling, Chairperson of EFCO, representatives of EFCO’s overseas Chinese leaders, and representatives of the Chinese community in Croatia attended and exchanged views.

Ambassador Qi praised the longstanding patriotic traditions of overseas Chinese and emphasized that the complete reunification of the motherland is an unstoppable historical trend, a just cause, and an aspiration shared by all. He encouraged the Chinese diaspora to unite their strengths, actively serve as steadfast proponents of opposing “Taiwan independence” and promoting reunification, and continue acting as bridges and bonds for friendship between China and Europe.
Cao Yanling and key Chinese community leaders from across Europe, along with representatives from Croatia’s local Chinese community, expressed unanimous support for national reunification, which they identified as the shared wish of all Chinese people at home and abroad. They affirmed that Chinese organizations across Europe, together with the Chinese community in Croatia, would further strengthen solidarity and collaboration, resolutely oppose “Taiwan independence” separatist activities, and contribute to the great cause of China’s reunification while fostering people-to-people friendship between China and Europe, including between China and Croatia.
