Ambassador Kang Yan visited Ptuj in Slovenia on October 21upon invitation and met with Mayor Nuška Gajšek.

Drawing on the formulation and implementation of China's 15th Five-Year Plan, Ambassador Kang explained the substance and practice of the country’s whole-process people's democracy. She expressed the hope that Ptuj will make full use of mechanisms such as China-CEEC Cooperation to build exchanges with Chinese provinces and cities and explore cooperation in distinctive industries, urban governance and cultural heritage protection.

Mayor Gajšek and her team presented Ptuj's history and culture, its industries and its urban planning, and said the city looks forward to building ties and cooperation with Chinese cities and enterprises.

Ambassador Kang also visited local wineries to learn about the city's signature wine industry.
