A delegation of Journalists from Central and Eastern European Countries Starts Visit to China

A delegation of 46 journalists from Central and Eastern European countries or CEEC has arrived in Beijing for a week-long visit to China. The delegation had been invited to China by the Secretariat for Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries.

Liu Haixing said that, the visit marks the largest one in scale of journalists from the region to date. In the following days, the delegation will also visit Suzhou and Nanjing in East China's Jiangsu Province and Lanzhou in Northwestern China's Gansu Province.
Liu Haixing also mentioned that China and Central and Eastern European countries will hold a series of events in 2014, like the Meeting of National Coordinators for China-CEEC Cooperation and the Second Local Leaders' meeting of China and CEEC.

The delegation visited the China Public Diplomacy Association, or CPDA, on Wednesday. Both CPDA vice president Lv Fengding and former Chinese ambassador to Poland, Sun Yuxi delivered welcoming speeches, where they emphasized the great importance China attaches to maintaining friendly relations and strong cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries.

In the afternoon, the delegation observed a regular press conference at China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, followed by a brief meeting with two members of the Public Diplomacy Advisory Panel with the ministry. The journalists interviewed the members of the advisory panel about Chinese investment in Central and Eastern European countries.
