On 19 November 2024, Ambassador Qi Qianjin met with Ms. Zrinka Ujević, Head of the European Commission Representation in Croatia.

Ambassador Qi said China always views relations with the European Union from a strategic and long-term perspective, regarding Europe as an important direction in China’s diplomacy and an important partner in pursuit of Chinese modernization, while China-EU relations has a strong momentum and broad prospects, for example, the Pelješac Bridge built by a Chinese enterprise has stood as a landmark project of trilateral cooperation between China, Croatia and the EU. Qi also added that issues such as the ongoing electric vehicle case should be properly handled to preserve the broader framework of China-EU trade cooperation.

Ms. Zrinka Ujević said that the EU attaches great importance to relations with China and is willing to continue to find a better solution through friendly consultations.
