On the evening of 5September 2024, the Chinese Embassy in Croatia held a reception to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Željko Reiner, Deputy Speaker of the Croatian Parliament and representative of the Speaker, Frano Matušić, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European affairs, as well as over 300 Chinese and Croatian guests from various communities,  including ambassadors and diplomats from other countries, and representatives from the Chinese community, Chinese institutions and enterprises,participated in the event.

In his speech,Ambassador Qi Qianjin focused on introducing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, emphasizing that further deepening reform comprehensively to advance Chinese modernization will provide new opportunities for all countries including Croatia. He hoped that China and Croatia would take the 20th anniversary of the establishment of their comprehensive cooperative partnership,which is next year, as an opportunity to work together to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields and promote a new chapter in bilateral relations.

Željko Reiner and Frano Matušić both gave speeches. They praised China's achievements in economic and social development, emphasized the traditional friendship between Croatia and China, and looked forward to further strengthening exchanges and cooperation.

Artists from China and Croatia and contestants of “Chinese Bridge”  gave wonderful performances. Also, A BYD electric vehicle was displayed at the venue, which received won praise from guests.
