On Aug 27, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Slovakia Cai Ge visited the Prešov Region at the invitation of Samuel Migaľ, Slovakia's minister of investments, regional development and informatization. He met leaders of the University of Prešov, held discussions with business representatives from Lipany, visited companies including Tesla Stropkov and Leyard Europe, and gave interviews to Slovak Television and Radio (STVR) and other media outlets.

Ambassador Cai said China-Slovakia relations were enjoying their best period in history. Successive visits to China by Slovakia's president, prime minister and parliamentary speaker had brought increasingly close high-level exchanges and added substance to the strategic partnership, creating favorable conditions for practical cooperation across a wide range of fields. China was actively implementing the consensus reached by the two countries' leaders and promoting deeper cooperation in trade, the economy, investment, education, science and technology. He described Prešov as an important region in eastern Slovakia, home to a number of well-known universities and companies. The Chinese Embassy in Slovakia was ready to serve as a bridge to help strengthen local exchanges and cooperation with China, turning diplomatic achievements into more tangible benefits for the peoples of both countries.
