On October 15, Chinese Ambassador to Greece Fang Qiu met with Hardalias, Governor of the Attica Region. The two sides exchanged views on China-Greece relations and local cooperation.

Ambassador Fang briefed the governor on China’s achievements in pursuing Chinese modernization and on the “15th Five-Year Plan,” stating that China and Greece, both ancient civilizations, enjoy a long-standing friendship, and than fruitful results have been achieved in people-to-people and cultural exchanges and practical cooperation. The Attica Region, with its profound historical and cultural heritage and outstanding advantages in industries with distinctive strengths, has a solid foundation and great potential for promoting China-Greece friendly exchanges and local cooperation. China supports relevant Chinese provinces and cities in deepening cooperation with the Attica Region in areas such as trade and economic cooperation, culture and tourism, ports, and shipping, so as to inject new vitality into the development of the China-Greece comprehensive strategic partnership.

Hardalias spoke highly of China's tremendous achievements in economic and social development, and expressed his readiness to further tap the potential for cooperation and broaden the scope of cooperation with China so as to bring more benefits to the people of both countries.
