Bulgarian opposition GERB party on Thursday filed a third no-confidence motion against the government led by Plamen Oresharski of the Socialist Party.
Veselin Vuchkov, a GERB parliament member, who also was a Deputy Minister of Interior from January 2011 to March 2013, told reporters that the party wanted the vote due to the government's "failure" in internal security and public order, including "not dealing with the refugee problem, escalating smuggling, and relentless household crime."
Oresharski said the arguments for the no-confidence motion "sound like self-criticism because trends, such as increasing household crime and smuggling, have been clearly formed during the previous government."
To be passed in the parliament, the motion must be supported by more than half of the legislators, while GERB has only 95 members in the 240-seat parliament.
The GERB party's two previous motion against the current government, which filed in September and October last year respectively, both failed.
