On 17 March 2026, Ambassador Kang Yan paid a courtesy call on Ms. Mateja Čalušić, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of Slovenia. They exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation in agriculture and forestry, industrial development and institutional building.

Ambassador Kang Yan briefed on China’s policies and measures outlined in the 2026 Report on the Work of the Chinese Government and the 15th Five-Year Plan, focusing on advancing all-round rural revitalization and expanding high-level opening-up. She expressed hope to strengthen cooperation with Slovenia both bilaterally and within the framework of China-CEEC Cooperation.

Minister Čalušić spoke highly of China’s development achievements, noting that China is an important economic and trade partner for Slovenia. She expressed hope for enhancing cooperation between the two sides in areas such as green agriculture, agri-forestry technology, and agricultural trade, promoting practical cooperation between the two countries to new heights.
