Chinese President Xi Jinping to host China-CEEC Summit

Chinese President Xi Jinping will host the Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs) and deliver a keynote speech in Beijing on February 9, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said.

The summit, proposed by China, will be held via video link, Hua announced on Tuesday. Leaders and high-level representatives of CEECs, as well as representatives of China-CEEC cooperation observers will be invited to attend the summit.   

Members of the China-CEEC cooperation mechanism include China, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Greece. 

According to the latest data from China's Ministry of Commerce, China's total trade volume with 17 CEECs reached $103.45 billion in 2020, crossing the $100-billion mark for the first time.
