On September 18, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Croatia, together with a delegation of the European Federation of Chinese Organizations (EFCO) and representatives of the Chinese community in Croatia, held a seminar on opposing “independence” and promoting reunification under the theme “Pooling Strength for Reunification and Joining Hands to Realize the Chinese Dream.” Qi Qianjin, Chinese Ambassador to Croatia, attended and addressed the event. Cao Yanling, President of EFCO, representatives of EFCO community leaders and representatives of the Chinese community in Croatia attended and exchanged views.

Ambassador Qi fully recognized the fine tradition of overseas Chinese in Europe of loving both their motherland and their ancestral homeland, stressing that the complete reunification of the motherland is an unstoppable trend, a cause of justice and the shared aspiration of the people. He encouraged overseas Chinese to pool the strength of Chinese nationals abroad, act as steadfast advocates for opposing “independence” and promoting reunification, and serve as a bridge and bond of friendship between China and Europe.

President Cao Yanling, together with leading community figures from various European countries and representatives of the Chinese community in Croatia, unanimously stated that national reunification is the shared aspiration of all Chinese people, both at home and abroad. Chinese communities across Europe and Chinese nationals in Croatia will further strengthen solidarity and coordination, resolutely curb “Taiwan independence” separatist activities, and contribute to advancing the great cause of national reunification and to promoting people-to-people friendship between China and Europe and between China and Croatia.
