BUDAPEST, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Sunday arrived in Hungary for an official visit to the country and the sixth meeting of heads of government of China and 16 Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) in Budapest.

"This is an important meeting held at the fifth anniversary of the launching of China-CEEC cooperation (16+1 cooperation). I'm looking forward to the meeting and the visit," Li said in an article published on the newspaper The Hungarian Times ahead of the visit.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang said Monday that China expects the China-CEEC meeting to map out the future cooperation direction and steps on the basis of previous experience, and to advance China-Europe ties.

After the meeting and visit scheduled for Nov. 26-29, Li will attend the 16th meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the Russian city of Sochi from Nov. 30 to Dec. 1.
