On the afternoon of September 9, the thematic event “Biotechnology: Cross-Dimensional Industrial Leap” of the 2026 China-CEEC Conference on Innovation Cooperation was held. The event focused on cutting-edge areas in biotechnology, promoting scientific and technological exchange and industry-academia-research cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries.

Academicians, experts, and industry representatives from China and Central and Eastern European countries shared their latest research findings and industrial practices in frontier fields such as brain science, aging biology, microbial biotechnology and edible fungi biotechnology, and pharmaceutical R&D and clinical operations. In 2025, Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang (YIT) signed a memorandum of understanding with the HUN-REN Biological Research Centre, Szeged (HUN-REN BRC) on jointly building the China-Hungary “Belt and Road” International Joint Laboratory, and the related cooperation platform has been approved as a Zhejiang Provincial International Joint Laboratory.
