BELGRADE -- Chinese President Xi Jinping announced here on Wednesday six measures to support the building of a China-Serbia community with a shared future.
Xi made the announcement as he jointly met the press with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
1. Xi says China-Serbia free trade agreement to take effect on July 1
With joint efforts from China and Serbia, the free trade agreement between the two countries will take effect on July 1, President Xi said.
2. China supports Serbia in hosting Expo 2027, to send delegation -- Xi
China supports Serbia in hosting Expo 2027, and will send a delegation to participate in the grand show, President Xi announced on Wednesday.
China encourages its enterprises to take part in the construction of relevant projects, Xi said.
3. China to import more quality, distinctive Serbian agriproducts -- Xi
China is ready to import more quality and distinctive agricultural products from Serbia, President Xi said.
4. 50 young Serbian scientists to be supported for exchange programs with China in 3 years -- Xi
The Chinese side will aid 50 young Serbian scientists in exchange programs with China for the next three years, President Xi said.
5. Xi says to invite 300 Serbian youths to study in China in 3 years
A total of 300 Serbian youths will be invited to study in China in the next three years, President Xi said.
6. China welcomes more direct flights between Belgrade, Chinese cities -- Xi
China welcomes Serbia to increase direct flights between Belgrade and Shanghai, and encourages airlines from both sides to launch direct flights between Belgrade and Guangzhou, President Xi said.
