In recent years, economic and trade cooperation between China and Belarus has deepened steadily, with expanding areas of collaboration. On January 1, 2026, the Agreement on Trade in Services and Investment between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Belarus officially came into effect, unlocking new potential in bilateral trade and investment cooperation. This development has attracted the attention of an increasing number of Chinese enterprises, which are now exploring new opportunities for industrial collaboration between the two countries.
To help enterprises in Guangdong Province gain a deeper understanding of Belarus’ investment environment, industrial parks, and related policies, the Guangdong Province “Go Global” Lecture Series: Belarus Special Session was successfully held on August 20, 2026, at the Guangzhou International Cooperation Center (GICC). The event was jointly hosted by the China Enterprises “Going Global” Comprehensive Service Center for Chinese Enterprises (hereinafter referred to as the “Go Global” Service Center) and the Guangzhou International Cooperation Center, with support from China-Belarus Great Stone Industrial Park Development Company and organization by Southcn.com. Approximately 70 institutional experts and business representatives attended the event.
At the event, representatives from various organizations and companies delivered presentations on topics such as investment policies in Belarus, industrial park platforms, regulatory compliance, and risk management. These discussions provided a comprehensive overview of international investment regulations and practical guidelines to promote better integration of Guangdong’s competitive industries with Belarus’s developmental needs, assisting enterprises in achieving a smooth and sustainable entry into foreign markets.
The Consul of the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Guangzhou, Mr. Gorbach Anton, opened the event by highlighting the achievements of China-Belarus economic and trade cooperation and the investment opportunities available in Belarus. He emphasized the importance of advancing cooperation in production and investment between China and Belarus, establishing joint ventures in both countries, producing finished products, and jointly exploring markets in China, Belarus, and third countries.
Following this, a representative of the “Go Global” Service Center introduced the center’s comprehensive enterprise service system, which includes policy interpretation, overseas investment filing, and the integration of professional service resources. These tailored services provide end-to-end professional support to enterprises interested in investing in Belarus.
Meanwhile, centering on four major service pathways, a representative from the Guangzhou International Cooperation Center elaborated on the institution’s diverse functions as a comprehensive platform for international exchanges. By leveraging its extensive global cooperation channels, the center helps businesses enhance their international partnerships and expand their activities abroad.
Overseas industrial parks play a fundamental role in supporting the Belt and Road Initiative and accelerating the “Going Global” strategy of Chinese enterprises. As one of the largest and highest-level economic cooperation zones established by China overseas, the China-Belarus Industrial Park has earned the title of the “Pearl on the Silk Road.” As of July 2026, the park has attracted 175 enterprises from 15 countries, with a total intended investment of approximately $1.608 billion.
During the lecture series, representatives from the China-Belarus Great Stone Industrial Park provided an in-depth presentation on the park’s development background, locational advantages, and preferential policies. They also shared success stories from enterprises operating in the park, illustrating its accomplishments and its vibrant growth potential.
For Chinese enterprises venturing abroad, recognizing opportunities must be balanced with the ability to manage risks. A representative from the Guangdong branch of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation provided targeted examples from Belarus-related projects to explain the functions and benefits of medium- and long-term export credit insurance. This session offered practical and actionable solutions for risk mitigation and financial support for overseas projects.
Compliance forms the bedrock of sustainable overseas investment. A representative from China Commercial Law Firm outlined key compliance points for Chinese enterprises investing in Belarus, addressing issues such as pre-investment approval, funding requirements, tax regulations, and labor management. Businesses were reminded to strictly adhere to local laws and regulations to navigate overseas ventures more securely.
In the session on practical case studies, a representative from Guangzhou Youdi Bio-technology Co., Ltd. shared their experience in the Belarusian biopharmaceutical research and industrialization collaboration project. This example of cross-border industrial collaboration offered practical insights and served as a reference for other Guangdong enterprises exploring cooperative models.
Participants widely agreed that this event was a valuable initiative, as it closely aligned with the practical needs of businesses looking to expand abroad. Combining policy interpretation, case studies, and practical guidance, the event provided more clarity on how Guangdong enterprises can navigate investment pathways in Belarus and align with partnership opportunities.
To further assist enterprises in “going global” steadily and sustainably, the “Go Global” Service Center also set up on-site consultation stations during the event. Here, professional representatives and experts offered one-on-one guidance to participating enterprises, helping them build a more comprehensive understanding of overseas business operations.
Moving forward, the “Go Global” Service Center will continue to prioritize the practical needs of enterprises as they seek to establish themselves abroad. By diversifying global resources and organizing more country-specific thematic events, it aims to support Chinese enterprises in building stable foundations for long-term international success.
