From October 12 to 17, the Chinese Embassy in Belarus organized a delegation comprising heads of the Union of Writers of Belarus, the “Belarus” Publishing House, the newspaper Literature and Art (Літаратура і мастацтва), and the Medical Herald (Медицинский вестник) for a visit to Beijing and Shanghai.

During their stay in China, the delegation held meetings and discussions with heads of the China Writers Association (CWA), China Publishing Group Co., Ltd., the Shanghai Writers’ Association, and the Belarusian Studies Center at East China Normal University. They discussed literary creation in China and Belarus, the development of writers' ranks, and the training of young writers; explored the mutual translation of classic books, the export and import of copyright, and cooperation at international book fairs; and exchanged views on China-Belarus literary studies, the training of translation professionals, and the linkage between academia and publishing. In addition, the delegation visited the Palace Museum in Beijing, the National Museum of Modern Chinese Literature, the exhibition hall on the history of the People's Literature Publishing House, and Yu Garden in Shanghai.

Delegation members stated that Belarus and China are bound by a century-long path of literary friendship, and Belarus has consistently been committed to carrying forward the tradition of literary exchanges that began in the last century. In recent years, Belarus has actively paid close attention to many representative literary works of ancient, modern/contemporary Chinese literature, and has continued to deepen the two-way translation, introduction, and publication of Belarusian and Chinese literature. They believe that the series of cooperation proposals reached during this visit will lend the strength of the literary and publishing sectors to deepening the China-Belarus all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership, and further strengthen the cultural bonds that connect the hearts of the two peoples.
