On August 25, 2026, Ambassador Qi Qianjin met with a delegation led by Mufti Hasanović of the Islamic Community of Croatia, who had just concluded a visit to Xinjiang.

Ambassador Qi congratulated the delegation on the complete success of its visit to Xinjiang. He said that, guided by the Party's strategy for governing Xinjiang in the new era, Xinjiang enjoys stability and harmony and has achieved historic development. Religious beliefs and human rights are really protected, and all ethnic groups live as one big family in China. He welcomed more Croatian Muslims to visit Xinjiang and see it for themselves.

Mufti Hasanović thanked the Embassy and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region for the invitation to visit places including Urumqi and Kashgar. He said that China has made tremendous efforts in counter-terrorism and de-radicalization, and that Xinjiang's development achievements are impressive. He expressed readiness to introduce the real Xinjiang to more Muslim communities in Croatia.
